Jinx and The Periods in Store
Having released two albums last year after a six year hiatus, Jinx Lennon is back on the road, playing successful shows at some of Ireland's biggest festivals this summer including The Electric Picnic and Body and Soul, as well as the local Arcadian Field.
While he still operates under the radar of those whose idea of music is limited to chart success and reality music shows, Jinx has a loyal following here in his native Dundalk and around the country for the raw truth of his song writing.
Often described as a punk poet, Jinx sits in similar territory to the Rubberbandits, espousing truths which make some uncomfortable, exposing all that is wrong with Irish society at the same time as being fiercely proud of it. Except he does it with a Dundalk accent.
Jinx plays at the Liverpool Irish Festival on Thursday night and will be back home for a gig in The Spirit Store on Friday night with support from The Periods, which features his wife Sophie Coyle, Orla Barry, Joanne Finnegan, Lizzy Mohan, Nicola Moran and Caroline Whately.
